Sam Central Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Sam Central ("the App") handles information. The App is published by Hamzeh Hamdan ("we", "us", or "our"). Sam Central is designed to keep your data private by default. Your journal, moods, and settings are stored on your device and—if enabled—inside your own iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit. We do not run our own servers and we do not receive, collect, or sell your data.

At a glance

No account is required; there are no analytics, ads, or tracking SDKs. Your data stays with you—saved on your device and, optionally, synced privately through your iCloud account. Location and notifications are optional and used only to power features you turn on.

Data you create in the app

When you check in, you can record a mood rating (1–5), select emotions, add notes or reflections, and mark “Buckets” you filled (e.g., Fitness, Friends, Finances, Self‑Care). These items are saved locally on your device and, if iCloud is enabled on the device, synced to your personal iCloud account via CloudKit so your devices stay in sync. We—the developer—do not receive this data.

Location (optional)

If you allow Location access, the app records an approximate location to tag a check‑in with your city. Location is not continuously tracked. Location is stored with the entry locally and in your iCloud (if enabled) and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

Notifications (optional)

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications (including Time‑Sensitive notifications if you permit) to help you remember your daily check‑in. iOS may use your device’s push token for its notifications infrastructure, but we do not send it to our servers because we do not operate any backend.

Device information

We do not collect device identifiers or diagnostics via third‑party services. If you choose to share crash logs with Apple, Apple may provide aggregated crash information to us through its tools.

How iCloud/CloudKit syncing works

When iCloud is enabled on your device, Apple’s CloudKit stores your app data in a private database attached to your Apple ID. Only you and your devices can access that private database; we cannot. iCloud and CloudKit are provided by Apple and governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies.

Sharing and sale of data

We do not share, sell, or rent your data to anyone. We do not use third‑party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete it. You can delete entries inside the app and you can remove the app to delete local data. To remove iCloud data, open iOS Settings ▸ your Apple ID ▸ iCloud ▸ Manage Storage ▸ Sam Central and delete the data (steps may vary by iOS version).

Security

Local data is protected by iOS security features on your device. iCloud data is protected by Apple’s security and encryption. We rely on Apple’s built‑in mechanisms and do not add our own encryption layer.

Children’s privacy

Sam Central is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not run servers, we cannot identify or contact users.

International use

Data stored in iCloud may be processed by Apple’s infrastructure in accordance with Apple’s policies. We do not operate servers in any region.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will change, and the new policy will be available in the app’s Settings (if linked) and on our website/support page.
